Together we can achieve anything

Let’s realise our potential

Finding Inspiration

Many of us yearn to find the inspiration to drive us forward to open up new experiencers in our lives and give us a sense of purpose. Finding inspiration helps us to feel motivated to pursue our goals whether they are physical or mental. Maybe you have a fitness challenge that you would like to succeed in, or perhaps you would like to take up a skill you’ve always wanted to master or something you used to do and want to get back into? Whatever it is, inspiration can come from many different places.

Here are a some ideas of where you might find the inspiration for your creative journey.

  1. Explore new environments: A change of scenery, even a walk through a park or a visit to a museum, can bring fresh ideas.
  2. Dive into art and media: Read books, watch films, or listen to music that you wouldn’t usually choose. Let other creators’ works ignite your imagination.
  3. Engage in conversations: Chat with friends, family, or even strangers. Sometimes, their perspectives can inspire new ideas or solutions.
  4. Try something new: Experimenting with a new hobby or skill can lead to unexpected sources of inspiration.
  5. Reflect and journal: Writing down your thoughts, dreams, or questions can help uncover insights or ideas waiting to surface.
  6. Look to nature: Observing the beauty and intricacies of the natural world can be deeply inspiring.

I can often find inspiration by listening to music. I met my darling wife Gio when we were presenting on hospital radio. We were just teenagers then, but music has always had a significant role in my life.

Music is not simply entertainment, it can act as a muse, inspiring creativity, motivation, and the push we need to take action. Music has always been a companion for artists, writers, and visionaries throughout history. Whether you’re an artist with a blank canvas or a writer struggling to find the right words, playing or listening to music can spark new ideas and help break down creative blocks.

Quite often, when listening to a particular song, I find the lyrics help me to imagine what my character is feeling or going through in the chapter I am writing.

You will find on this blog a selection of the music I am listening to this week. Some of the songs I post there may be inspiring that next chapter or it might be unlocking deep emotions, whether it’s joy, sadness, excitement, or even nostalgia.

Music isn’t just a form of entertainment—it’s a powerful tool that helps to inspire. From sparking creativity to energizing our bodies and minds, music has the ability to unlock new possibilities. Whether you’re working on a creative project, going through a tough time, or simply looking for motivation, music can be the catalyst that propels you forward. So, next time you need a little inspiration, put on your favourite track and let the music guide you. You’ll be amazed at what it can do!
