I can often find inspiration by listening to music. I met my darling wife Gio when we were presenting on hospital radio. We were just teenagers then, but music has always had a significant role in my life.
Music is not simply entertainment, it can act as a muse, inspiring creativity, motivation, and the push we need to take action. Music has always been a companion for artists, writers, and visionaries throughout history. Whether you’re an artist with a blank canvas or a writer struggling to find the right words, playing or listening to music can spark new ideas and help break down creative blocks.
Quite often, when listening to a particular song, I find the lyrics help me to imagine what my character is feeling or going through in the chapter I am writing.
You will find on this blog a selection of the music I am listening to this week. Some of the songs I post there may be inspiring that next chapter or it might be unlocking deep emotions, whether it’s joy, sadness, excitement, or even nostalgia.
Music isn’t just a form of entertainment—it’s a powerful tool that helps to inspire. From sparking creativity to energizing our bodies and minds, music has the ability to unlock new possibilities. Whether you’re working on a creative project, going through a tough time, or simply looking for motivation, music can be the catalyst that propels you forward. So, next time you need a little inspiration, put on your favourite track and let the music guide you. You’ll be amazed at what it can do!
